Refrigerators

Refrigerators are a big investment. They are a part of your kitchen that you will be using everyday. Several things should be taken into consideration before purchasing a refrigerator. Ask yourself questions such as what features are you looking for, and what styles suit you and your family best? Do you want an electric or gas refrigerator?

Before selecting the style of your refrigerator, you must pick between a gas and an electric model. If electricity is not available in your house, than you will most likely be using a gas powered model. They use gas or propane as their main source of energy and are not as common as electric refrigerators. Electric refrigerators use the process of evaporation to absorb heat and create a cooling effect.

Refrigerators come in three designs which include the side by sides, the freezer on the top, and the freezer on the bottom. Side by side styles work great with kitchen cabinetry because the doors are thin. However, they are also narrow and make it difficult, if not impossible, to fit large food trays. Refrigerators with the freezer on the bottom are least popular because it makes it difficult to search for freezer food. Freezers on the top are the most common style because room is used most efficiently.

In addition, there are other refrigerator options that should be taken into consideration. Consider the size of your kitchen, the amount of food that you and family need to store, and what types of features you want to enhance your refrigerator. Features include water and ice dispensers, adjustable shelves, cycle defrost, temperature controls, alarms, colors and materials.

It is typically quite simple to keep up with refrigerator maintenance. Always make sure that when frost becomes too thick, you defrost. Overtime you will most likely have to replace a light bulb. Its best to bring the old bulb to the store with you to make sure you are getting the right size. Also, you may need to replace the sealing on the door. Other than that, just make sure to keep it clean for hygienic reasons.
